Christianity In Public Schools
So follow the link above and you will find what the morons in my county value the most. 1st, I'd like to thank the Freedom From Religion Foundation in Wisconsin for following thru with doing something about this. I don't know how they found out about a backwoods county in South Carolina, but I'm sure glad they did. It is a wonderful thing that some people are able to speak out.
What more can we do about things like this? I'd love to hear stories and ideas! Thanks!

Permalink Reply by Louis on January 4, 2013 at 1:41am It's amazing how upset a lot of Christians get when they come across people who don't have the same views as them. If prayer for their kids is such a huge deal why don't they just take their kids to church and pray in the home or something??
Permalink Reply by SteveInCO on January 4, 2013 at 8:07am The manger HAS to be in front of the courthouse, not in front of a church. The prayer HAS to be in the school, read through a PA system. Or they throw an absolute shit fit.
At a gut level these lying bastards know the difference between public and private all right.
Permalink Reply by James Cox on January 4, 2013 at 1:57am Several years ago, I attended a planning meeting with our local community college, concerning a school sponsered fair in the cafeteria. During that meeting students and faculty representatives reviewed applications for student groups and individuals that could have booths.
Towards the end of the meeting, one application was reviewed that was for a student to operate a palm reading booth. This opened up the conversation to people with theist axes to grind. The desire to discriminate against this fellow student on the basis of religious grounds was posted to the minutes, then the representatives of the campus religious group prayed that, 'this person would have a car accident and not be able to attend'. I stood up, voiced my revulsion for what the theists had just done and stated my refusal to support any demented decision that they might make! I then walked out.
Permalink Reply by RobertPiano on January 4, 2013 at 8:23am HaHa, I always suspected that god and jesus caused car accidents.
Permalink Reply by James Cox on January 4, 2013 at 2:55pm Sort of like a Jesus hit squad or assasination. Maybe the CIA PSIOPS program had it all wrong, they needed christians for the job?
Of course, having this 'power' makes me wonder about the people using it. I think some of the bad C-D grade horror flicks have shown this effect, but via satanists/satan.
O wow! I just had enough time to go online and check the blog on the link and I see you all have been posting! Thank you so much! Now I have to get to reading your comments on here. I love this site and all that you guys do! You are wonderful :)
BTW, I have 2 step-children in school here (in the county the blog post is about) and they have to say prayers. Just the other day they told me that it came over the intercom to pray for someone affiliated with the school that had cancer. Plus they get in trouble for not saying the pledge, so basically they are forced to say "under god" in it as well. Grrr.
Permalink Reply by Carver Anderson on January 12, 2013 at 10:44pm Wow! I'm not far from you in North Georgia and they flirt with things like this my daughter's school but haven't blatantly crossed any lines like that. I mainly have to deal with things like that from my super religious in-laws telling my young girls about Jesus dying for them and "walking in the clouds", which is a whole different problem :) Good luck!
Permalink Reply by SteveInCO on January 13, 2013 at 11:51am They could try "under doG" and see if anyone notices.

Permalink Reply by Ryan B on January 17, 2013 at 12:15pm We're practically neighbors...I'm in Anderson so I know all about the pains of being anywhere near Pickens. I'm quite surprised at the spelling and grammar from those who posted. I wish the person who submitted the complaint would go public. I'd like to see how many atheists would come out and support said person, even if it is social suicide down here.
