I've seen plenty of ruthless debates on YouTube of non-believers literally destroy the opposing defending "faither" on claims of morality. It is based on 1) the Ten Commandments and 2) the actions of the characters through the Bible (David, Elijah, Jesus, the disciples, etc.) The thinking is that if these are holy men and if what they did is considered good by God, then those are the type of actions that people should do. These moral actions are sometimes explicit as in the letters from the apostles in the New Testament or implicit in interpreting the actions of people in the books.
