My name is [
information removed]. One of the things I've found in my career is that Atheism is one of the things you don't talk about. The military is, as many have commented to me before, a Christian organization being ran by, you guessed it, Christians. It's discouraging to me as an Atheist when our commanders give us the motivational speeches about "Winning the war against Radical Islam". It's MADDENING! This isn't a war on Islam, it's a war on TERRORISM. (The upper-echelon frequently fails to see the difference.) I won't officially put my stance on the
Crusade War in Iraq, but when we, as the war fighters, aren't even provided the basic rights that we're fighting for, it makes you wonder... Why are we fighting? Are my religious views a danger to the mission? If I don't believe in God, do I not perform as well in my job?
I've posted some links to articles and videos on the Anti-Atheist sentiment in the military. At the very least you should check out the Pat Tillman video. It's disgusting how disrespectful some people are, even to the families of our fallen soldiers, in the "name of God".

Let me know what you think, I'd be happy to discuss. :)
