Steve Jobs surprised the world regularly with things we didn't know we needed until we saw them, and which since have pervaded not just our daily lives but our consciousness. Even when it's not an Apple product, smartphones, tablets, MP3 players, and other devices have become part of our daily lives, and all can be traced back to Steve Jobs much like every electric guitar can be traced back to Les Paul and every electric light to Thomas Edison.

What is the next thing which will be commonplace and essential five or ten years from now that most people today don't know they will need?
