This link here is an update on a old "Sunday School" story from 2012. Internet privacy does not exist unless you know how to go to the dark side and can configure firewall or use "Tor" resources. That is a start, unless it turns out to be invented by the NSA or China in the first place......

If I'm not mistaken, probably 15 to 20 years ago, laws were passed in the US prohibiting the development of any encryption software except unless "the authorities" were given back-door access.

I'm sure encryption software has been developed elsewhere, but doubtlessly access to any sites offering such software that hasn't been "registered" would set off alarm bells all over Washington. Presumably anyone wanting to sell such software anywhere would just decide to give the man the keys to the back door.

Long live the man.
