Hello everyone. I'm glad to have discovered this site through some irreproducible sequence of links :) I am an atheist of the Richard Dawkins et al. variety, and also an out gay man. These conditions would be challenging in most places in the USA, but I also happen to live in Nashville, TN, where there is a dearth of rational thinking about most subjects and particularly about religion. Well, particularly about homosexuality too, but this isn't the forum for that except for the nefarious intersection of religion, especially Christianity, and blatant heterosexism.

As I alluded to, I suppose I am a "New Atheist", which as I understand it means that I am not reticent about expressing, strongly and um loudly, my atheism and my opposition to religion. As you might imagine, this is so popular in Tennessee. Incidentally, in my case, there is nothing 'new' about 'New Atheism' - I've been doing this for over 30 years. The puzzling thing to me is why all atheists aren't 'New'; come on, folks, speak up, act out, be proud!

Anyway, if there are others here in the Nashville area, I'd love to hear from you.
