I have recently heard a song by Muse titled Thoughts of a dying atheist and made me want to ask about it. What are your thoughts on this subject. It’s hard to foresee how you’ll react to a situation until you’re in it. When I try to imagine myself on my deathbed, sure, I feel a little fear. I want to live, after all! But it’s nothing like terror. I think I’ll be able to accept it well enough.

I'm of the opinion that death is a good end to a well-lived and rich life. As Richard Dawkins points out, we should think ourselves fortunate to die because for all that ARE born, many are not and so never have the chance to either experience life or its ending.
