There is a cat who lives at my house. I found him stuck in a school yard fence 20 years ago. I got him out of the fence, brought him home, and he has hung out with us ever since.

Dogs. Although I do like cats, I'm slightly allergic and the majority of them hate me. Also, I just love dogs, no particular reason why.

We had a family springer years ago.

My mother went with him to the supper market  25 miles away. We lived the country my father worked 2 miles away from the supermarket in the town. The dog had never gotten out of the car in town. Any way while in the supermarket he got out of the car. Mum rung dad about an hour later crying Ive lost the dog. He said its alright hes here.

How do they do that ?

To my knowledge he never been from the supermarket to my dads work even in the car.

Yeah that reminds me of the Incredible journey. Haven't seen that for years.

 I know how birds do it. they have  metal in there beak that tingles in relation to the Nth on the compass

I prefer cats... but thats because I am too lazy to take proper care of a dog.  Cats are much more independent and I dont have to worry about stinky dog breath kisses or a nose to the crotch.  That being said, my favorite pet ever having was a dog LOL.

the stinky breath kisses is part of the charm. as for the nose to the crotch...they are only saying hi. lol

Both? cats are unique because they seem to have more personality and independence then dogs. on the other hand, my dog is much more friendly and playful then my cat is.
