Anyone listen to music that expresses their views on religion?

I've been listening to some music that expresses some of the atheistic views that I have, and I was wondering if anyone else would like to share any songs or artists that they like?

A couple of my personal favorites are R Way by Rebelution and Best God in Show by NOFX.

Another NIN Song I love - Capital G

Sure, John Lennon sang "Imagine"... but I really disagree with the premise.

"Imagine there's no heaven", really is a contradiction to the reality that heaven is the imagination.

How about waking up to reality that there is no heaven nor religion?

and "mama mary" (Paul) isn't wise for saying 'Let it Be'

Still worship them though, I only play beatle songs with my acoustic guitar.

My favorite Beatle is Sir James Paul McCartney. I have all their albums.
Performed by musical group (Kansas)

Dust in the Wind

I close my eyes, only for a moment, and the moment's gone
All my dreams pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind

Same old song, just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do crumbles to the ground though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind

Now, don't hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away, and all your money won't another moment buy
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Everything is dust in the wind
The End

Wow, just think. If all we are is dust in the wind, then dust in the wind is what created this beautiful song. Dust in the wind can be astonishingly beautiful and do wonderous things.
You're my boy Blue!
Sorry . . . I can't get out of my head seeing Will Farrell sing this in 'Old School' ; ]

Thanks a lot James. Now I won't be able to get it out of my head either! lol

Hmm, let me try to come up with another song.

How about "Losing My Religion" by REM.
What's interesting to me is that I've known about them being atheist, but its been hard for me to get into their music. Actually, and this goes for many musical artists that are apparently atheist, i'm finding it hard to get into them if they are more blatant and intentional in their lyrics about their atheistic views.
Sorry. I meant to say that it's hard for me to get into them if they are NOT more blatant and intentional with their atheistic views in their lyrics.
Going to see Muse and Ozzy at New Orleans Voodoo fest in a few weeks.
there aren't that many bands that publicly state they are atheist. most people read into the lyrics and make a decision based on what it sounds like to them. This is one of the reasons Tool doesn't put out lyrics to their songs. they want people just like other bands to think about it and make your own mind up as to what it means.
In some of the older books on religion they use to state that Lucent or Lucifer was the greatest musician in heaven and regularly gave performances before god. So i guess you could say that god has nothing to do with music anymore since his best friend disagreed with him over some key issues. Lucifer was also considered the most beautiful of all the angels, i often wonder why they changed the story of him over time.

With Dave Matthews and many other artist and musicians it's not about singing to one particular group. Most songs about religion can be taken either way as the artist usually intends it to be that way. I would continue to listen to him because he is a great musician.
