I agree 100%. Angie is amazing and I don't understand why there are so many hateful and/or crazy people in the world who don't see that LOL.

I follow her on Twitter, but I haven't had time to follow this thing very closely. I'm a bit surprised by the attention and reactions it is getting, though. And here I thought I was not being fair to the American public at large. Guess I'll have to lower the bar even more.

They assigned it a name and a gender? How thoroughly anti-choice of them. Really though, what a sordid lot, deriving some perverse 'moral'ized jollies from making murder out of mole hills. I'm not really sure how someone explains the morbid irony of it all to these people. It would be nice if they turned their overactive imaginations to more constructive tasks, like empathizing with other human beings and their experiences.

Agree or disagree as they may, Angie publicly relayed her experiences on a choice that she was entitled to make herself -- it takes less energy to at least listen to what she has to say in this case than it does to keep up the disingenuous 'won't somebody please think of the children' routine.

I agree, she is even bravely talking about struggling with her eating disorder and all sorts of other issues in her life and I admire her for all of it. :D

By the way, to everyone else, I'm reading the entire 10 part anti-choice blog on Angie and almost all of the comments now, I didn't realize it was so long until Neal explained to me that I had to go to part x to comment and then I saw the links to all of the different parts LOL.

I have a lot of things I need to reply to there. I really hope some of you comment there too. Because wow there is some seriously flawed logic in some of the posts and people aren't being fair to Angie at all.

It's puzzling to me where believers get the notion that their psycho god is pro life.
Have they ever read the bible? God is not anti-abortion 'he' repeatedly commands his
'ditto-heads' to kill pregnant women, rip the fetus from their bellies, etcetera:

Numbers 5:11-21 The description of a bizarre, brutal and abusive ritual to be performed on
a wife SUSPECTED of adultery. This is considered to be an induced abortion to rid a
woman of another man’s child.

Numbers 31:17 (Moses) “Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill
every women that hath known man by lying with him.” In other words: women that might
be pregnant, which clearly is abortion for the fetus.

Hosea 13:16 God promises to dash to pieces the infants of Samaria and the “their women
with child shall be ripped up”. Once again this god kills the unborn, including their
pregnant mothers.

2 Kings 15:16 God allows the pregnant women of Tappuah (aka Tiphsah) to be “ripped
open”. And the Christians have the audacity to say god is pro-life. How and [sic] the hell is it that
Christians can read passages where God allows pregnant women to be murdered, yet still
claim abortion is wrong?

1 Samuel 15:3 God commands the death of helpless "suckling" infants. This literally means
that the children god killed were still nursing.
Psalms 135:8 & 136:10 Here god is praised for slaughtering little babies.
Psalms 137:9 Here god commands that infants should be “dashed upon the rocks”.

Again, it's a simple case of it being ok if God does it. You know, kind of like genocide, infanticide, and murder.
If anyone else does these things, they are horrible! But when god does it, these actions are worthy of praise.
It's also a case of the Xtian right wanting to control the population at large by dictating a set of moral codes that are independent of their religious doctrine.
As it was already pointed out, there is no Biblical basis for life at conception. On the contrary, in MANY places, the Bible points out that the life of a fetus is worth less than the life of a woman-
And holy shit, that's saying something, considering what esteem they held a woman's life in.
Frankly, I don't care what your opinion of abortion is, as long as it doesn't interfere with my right to have one.
But please, please don't use your fucked up book of fairy tales to justify what is clearly a medical issue.
P.S.
If the crazies didn't have their claws sunk so deep into politics, abortion would be much less necessary.
Why is it that I could buy my birth control over the counter in South East Asia, but not here?
Why is it that there were safe sex posters outside of high schools in Thailand, but even the thought of it in America would get all sorts of panties in a wad?
Why is it that every single 7-11 store in every single backwards country village, (And trust me, that's a considerable number. Those things are eeeeeeverywhere) sells condoms at the counter, right next to the bubble gum so you can grab it without a bunch of hoopla, but here in the U.S, they are secreted away or even require an employee to unlock from a case (as I've found at one Wal-Mart in Nevada)
Why is it that I paid less than two hundred dollars for a five year IUD that's as effective as female sterilization, but the exact same product, inserted the exact same way by the exact same type of doctor would run me over $1500 here?
Oh yeah. Because the Xtian right wants us to be pregnant, shamed, married, forgiven and then in poverty and ignorant for the rest of our lives, because fuck knows that if a woman gets an education, she'll tell these angry, controlling, rich white men where to stuff their rhetoric and brainwashing.

I'm going out on my own here. I only went and saw Jill's page on it. Angie does not come off well. I haven't went to Angie's page either. There are things that are private in life. As a matter of my choice, I see this as being in poor taste and not a matter of religion, morals, or being pro-or anti-abortion. It does positive harm to the cause of seeking support.
