I bring you the stately matron named Christendom, returning bedraggled, besmirched, and dishonored, from pirate raids in Kiao-Chou, Manchuria, South Africa, and the Phillipines, with her soul full of meanness, her pocket full of boodle, and her mouth full of pious hypocrisies. Give her soap and towel, but hide the looking glass.”

[Mark Twain, speech, “A Salutation from the 19th to the 20th Century” December 31, 1900]

So it began in full force; Islamic and Christian, embroiled in mass murder in the name of religion. It has gone on for centuries. Not only Islam and Christianity, but Islam against Hinduism, even usually non-violent Buddhists against Muslims and Hindus in the 8th through the 10th centuries, Christians against both Hindus and Muslims during the Indian Rebellion of 1857, the Saxon Wars from 772 to 804 in Germany to convert pagans to Christianity and the modern day Arab-Israeli Wars. Within Christianity itself some great conflicts have occurred; France in the 16th century between Roman Catholics and Protestant Huguenots in the “Wars of Religion”, “The Thirty Years War” in which Roman Catholics and Calvinists fought in and around the German states of the time involving many or most of the countries of Europe and in recent memory the years of the “Troubles” in Northern Ireland.

"Christians, needless to say, utterly detest one another; they slander each other constantly with the vilest forms of abuse, and cannot come to any sort of agreement in their teaching. Each sect brands its own, fills the head of its own with deceitful nonsense, and makes perfect little pigs of those it wins over to its side...”

[Celsus, Greek philosopher, 2nd Century AD]

HI there, it is sad story that the human brain is a natural information recorder which is  easily conditioned from birth by various propaganda & outright lies to further control of the brain.

Celsus might have been Christopher Hitchen's great-great-great-etc-grandfather. Would love to read more criticism by those who witnessed the spread of Christianity if you can recommend anything.

Hey folks, we are here because our pond scum ancestors were big and gobbled their small neighbors.

The smallest and weakest survivors consoled themselves with stories of happy future lives.

Other survivors invented democracy.
