A Gene for Liberalism?

Don't look now, but Fox News is reporting that researchers have found a gene that is responsible for Liberals!  The paper was published in the esteemed Journal of....Politics?  What?

Don't hold liberals responsible for their opinion -- they can't help themselves. A new study has concluded that ideology is not just a social thing; it's built into the DNA, borne along by a gene called DRD4. Tagged "the liberal gene," DRD4 is the first specific bit of human DNA that predisposes people to certain political views, the study's authors claim.


So, I haven't had time to look at this and see how much of it is bad science or bad media, but if there is good science behind this report, we can count on Fox News to not report it accurately.

Yeah, Fred, that survey was at A|N. As I recall, Brother Richard even helped formulate some of the survey questions.
