I just seen one of the most dumbfounding articles that I've ever read in my life. As the title says the article is '6 reasons not to send you're daughter to college'.
There reason I'm posting is to show you guys and also just to ask how you think you could actually argue against someone who is as, for lack of a better word, misguided and illogical as this. I was just thinking how I would respond if someone approached me with this stance and all I can think of is, well, more along the lines of insulting them and telling them where to go, instead of actually trying to argue...
I'd love to know what you guys would do if it ever happened!
Here's the link, but be prepared, you might lose a lot of brain cells by reading it...
That being said, here are the reasons to NOT send your daughter to college:
1.She will attract the wrong types of men.
Yeah...men with a BRAIN
The more I thought about it, the more I decided this needs the proper video demonstration...
I certainly don't think that college is necessarily the correct educational route for everyone. Vocational and trade school educations provide equally valid courses for certain individuals, myself included. The annoying thing about the mindset of FixtheFamily is that the female segment of our society is portrayed as primarily servants to the males. And their approach completely invalidates the stay-at-home dads who have become much more common place in today's culture. Their attitude reflects and emphasizes the growing chasm between common sense survival in a modern society and the outdated modes of thought religion expects from it's followers. The outrageous proposition offered by this website is actually beneficial. It serves to expose the ridiculous mentality most religious organizations possess.
I completely agree Ed! I was so angry that they were trying to make men out to be solely bread winners.
A few years ago, I could have given you a 7th reason - I seduced every girl I could get my hands on.
And.... OMFG, she might have SEX!!!
One can hope, at any rate.
I don't have the time, nor the energy to deal with this level of bronze age stupid. I'll get back to you on this one.
Ok so women's job is to be a mum in an already overpopulated world? Isn't it a good thing that a woman focuses more on her education and career so that when/if she decides to have a child it would be better supported and raised better. Last I checked it was a straight up right to decide whether or not to bear children. Fuck this guy and fuck what he is saying he needs a straight smack upside the head.
6 Reasons to send your daughter to college.
1-6 Cause a parents JOB is to do the best they can possibly do for their child and prepare them for the future.
Like Belle, I'm so pissed at this "article". I wasn't even able to finish it (I will though) due to the red clouding my vision. One of the biggest and longest fights I had with my parents growing up was about where/how/why/when I should be educated. I was very much a black sheep in my family since I never attended a xian school, although I was home-schooled until the seventh grade. All my siblings at least had some form of formal xian education but I managed (through luck and stubbornness mostly) to avoid that because I hated the idea of going to a type of school like that. I hated going to church, so why would I want to go there for school? *shudders* So this article made me so mad because no one "made me attend" any type of school, I chose what I wanted to do and study.
Another part that I think a lot of people will over look is the implied role of the man. He has no role other than the be the bread winner. And if he is anything but the best bread winner ever he is useless. That pisses me off as well because if women shouldn't be pigeonholed into doing something they don't want to do/be, than neither should men.
EDIT: I finished the article and read the comments. I got a kick out of those. XD
Since they allow comments, maybe we should go over there and "gangbang" the site! Verbally, of course --
Oh lol, I probably shouldn't. It would not end well hehe
