 Dr. Plait is the man behind the Bad Astronomy blog, a multiple award w
 inning blog on astronomy and skepticism that in 2009 was named as one 
 of Time magazine's best blogs. He recently put on a three part documen
 tary for the Discovery Channel called Phil Plait's Bad Universe. Dr. P
 lait is the author of two books, his latest a fascinating and eye-open
 ing list of all the ways the universe could destroy us. Dr. Plait rece
 ived his PhD from the University of Virgina in 1994 and went on to wor
 k on the Hubble Space Telescope. He served as the president of The Jam
 es Randi Educational Foundation from 2008 until 2010. And- this is so
