Message from Camp Quest's website:
On Sunday, April 10, 2011, we will have a state-wide meetup for freethinking families at the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia. This will be a great opportunity to meet other like-minded families, so get your wild side on and come make some new friends!
We will meet for lunch and socializing at 11am at the public picnic area which is located at the west end of the zoo’s parking lot (as opposed to the parking lot for the garden entrance). It is outside the zoo’s entrance gate, but you may leave and re-enter the park with your admission ticket. The zoo does not allow outside food or beverages to be brought inside the park, but you are free to bring your own lunch to this picnic area. To help us find each other, please “wear” a red bandana. You can tie it onto a stroller or onto a purse or wear it on your person. And if you have a favorite freethought shirt, now would be a great time to wear it!
Because it will be tedious to try to walk through the park as one large group, the only scheduled group time will be at lunch. Before and after the group lunch, feel free to wander the park in smaller groups or on your own
Hours of operation: 9am – 6pm
Address: 500 Wildlife Parkway (just off I-126 at Greystone Blvd.)
Admission: Adults (13yo and up) $11.75, Children (3-12yo) $9.25, Children (2yo and under) FREE
For more information about the zoo, please visit their website at www..riverbanks.org.
RSVPs are not required, but it would be helpful to have a rough estimate. To let me know you’re coming or for more information about this meetup, please email me at CQSouthCarolina@gmail.com.
