Event Description

Celebrating and remembering the life of Christopher Hitchens on the date of his birth, April 13th.  Let's lift a glass of Johnnie Walker Black, with a splash of Perrier, to the Bard of Atheism. If you smoke, a standard cigarette will do but a fine Cuban Cigar would be a tribute.

I had a fine time today celebrating the life of Hitch.  I watched my favorite You Tube videos, read passages from god is no great and raised a glass to my favorite author.  He will be missed, but not forgotten!

A toast to Christopher Hitchens on April 13th. He was a visionary, even among visionaries.

I felt uncomfortable and sometimes ashamed at my disdain for religion, until I read the words of a man, who was not afraid to treat religion with the same aggression, as religion promoted toward atheists.

Once a year I drink one glass of single malt and this is the day.

Yeah, It is a good Idea, and Heather used to  post frequently some insightful stuff and once in a while she would woop some ass too ;)

Thanks for taking notice, guys. It has actually become hard for me to watch his videos on Youtube unless I'm in just the right mood. It just sort of hurts to know I'm hearing the same stuff over and over - and won't get the chance to hear new ideas from him. Still, I think every freethinker should at least be aware of his contributions.

a great man who is greatly missed . To be remembered with great scotch. A wonderful notion. Hitch day will be celebrated in GA.

As long as I live I will be grateful for the wisdom of Christopher Hitchens.  Your event is a fine idea.
